If there's one designer that knows how to taunt and tease me season after season, runway after runway, it's absolutely, one hundred and fifty percent Balmain. And besides the slight fact that creative director Christophe Decarnin pulled a no-show, failing to back up his Parisian preview yesterday, crowds weren't surprised to recieve yet another season full of brilliance for Fall 2011. According to Women's Wear Daily, "the designer was absent under doctor’s orders, after having recently been released from the hospital, where he was said to have been treated for depression." One skeptical explanation after the other regarding the where-abouts of Monsieur Decarnin, and the rumour pot has gone from a simmer to a boil within 24 hrs. Another anonymous source claims that he's been in a mental hospital since January, going on to describe him as a 'total nightmare'. "He dissapeared one day mid-January, when an announcement was made to fellow employees that he would not be coming back."
Yikes bro, we hate to hear it. Couture just wouldn't be the same without industry big wigs rocking your astronomically priced, sequined, studded magic. Get well soon man!
